It was fantastic to see so many Scouts and Leaders out and about across the Hume Region throughout September, whether promoting Scouting in their local communities, participating in activities, or simply enjoying all that Scouting has to offer.
Keep Sharing What You're Up To
It has also been great to see so many Groups sharing their activities and achievements on the Hume Region Facebook pages. We strongly encourage all Groups to continue sharing what they have been up to. Not only does this help showcase the fantastic work being done across the Region, but it can also provide inspiration and new ideas for other Groups to consider and incorporate into their own programs.
Humeoree Was a Great Success
Humeoree was a great success and once again demonstrated the enthusiasm, creativity and commitment of our Scouting community. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Sam Vandenberg and her dedicated team of Leaders and volunteers who worked hard to organise and deliver such a fantastic weekend. The range of activities and experiences provided for our Scouts made for an enjoyable and memorable camp, and I know it was appreciated by everyone who attended.
Celebrating Service at Humeoree
It was also wonderful to have the opportunity at Humeoree to recognise and celebrate some of our outstanding Leaders and their years of service to Scouting. Congratulations to:
- Glenn (Aussie) Austin – Silver Koala Award
- Michael Thomson – 45 years of service
- Natalie Vossen – 25 years of service
- Lorraine Brooks – 15 years of service
- Trinity Hunt – 2 years of service
These awards and milestones are a wonderful reflection of the dedication and commitment of our Leaders and volunteers. Their contribution plays such an important role in providing great opportunities and experiences for young people across the Hume Region.
Thank you to everyone who continues to give their time, energy and enthusiasm to Scouting. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to hearing more about the fantastic activities, adventures and achievements taking place across the Region throughout October.
