The annual Special Needs Conference is on Saturday 10 August (from 9.00 am) to Sunday 11 August (to 2.30 pm) at the Baden Powell Scout Centre, Pennant Hills. If required, it is possible to stay overnight on Friday 9 August.
This Conference is open to ALL adult Scouting members, and youth members over 15, and will provide information and resources to assist in delivering Scouting to those with Special Needs. Cost: $170.
The Conference will include the Special Needs Awareness elective (Saturday 9.30 am-12.30 pm) and the Positive Behaviour Supports elective (Sunday 9.30 am-12.30 pm) and either or both of these electives can be attended as “stand alone” training for those who are not attending the whole Conference ($25 each, including morning tea. Lunch is optional at extra cost). There will be an alternate program during the electives for those who prefer (e.g. if they have already done the electives and don’t wish to repeat). The E1 Form for applications will be on-line at the Scout website from early June, or can be sent on request. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 10 July.
